Two Second Media Produces Virtual Telethon for Valley Youth Theatre

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced organizations across Arizona to rethink fundraising and community engagement, Two Second Media partnered with Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) to help bring an ambitious vision to life.

In 2020, Valley Youth Theatre transformed its annual VYTal Affair fundraising gala into a live virtual telethon designed to connect supporters, alumni, performers, and families from across the country. To help make the event possible, Two Second Media provided production support and produced the virtual telethon at no cost to the nonprofit organization.

As a Phoenix-based media and production company, Two Second Media was proud to help one of Arizona’s most respected arts organizations continue its mission during an unprecedented time. The eight-hour livestream featured more than 130 former cast members, live and pre-recorded performances, alumni interviews, virtual reunions, community leaders, and special guests, all brought together through a professionally produced virtual broadcast.

Among the telethon’s notable virtual participants was Academy Award-winning actress Emma Stone, one of Valley Youth Theatre’s most recognized alumni. Joining remotely alongside fellow performers and supporters, Stone helped celebrate the organization’s impact on generations of young artists. The event also highlighted the broader influence of Phoenix’s performing arts community and the many actors, performers, and creative professionals whose journeys began on local stages before finding success in the entertainment industry.

Through livestream production, virtual event management, and audience engagement technology, Two Second Media helped extend the reach of the telethon beyond Phoenix, connecting Valley Youth Theatre supporters across Arizona and throughout the United States. The event demonstrated how innovative digital production can help nonprofit organizations maintain meaningful connections with their communities while expanding their audience and impact.
